Virtually all laparoscopic bariatric procedures would benefit from Applied Medical’s Separator® abdominal access system and Direct Drive® line of instrumentation.
· The Separator abdominal access system accommodates instrumentation from 5mm – 15mm, including gastric bands, specimen retrieval bags and large staplers, without the need for a reducer. By utilizing Sequential Helix® technology, the Separator system results in a minimal fascial defect, reducing the risk of port-site bleeding and post-operative herniation.
· The Direct Drive laparoscopic grasper features the clinically proven latis® technology used in Applied's Stealth® vascular occlusion line. By providing traction independent of pressure, the Direct Drive grasper allows delicate tissue manipulation without the trauma associated with metal graspers.
· The Direct Drive laparoscopic scissors are designed with unique dual-edge blades that enable delicate transection at the distal tip and calcified and fibrotic division in the proximal jaws. The Direct Drive scissors sustain optimum sharpness throughout extensive use.
· The Direct Drive laparoscopic clip applier sets the standard for security and reliability. Unlike current spring-loaded devices, only the Direct Drive clip applier features a reliable clip advancing mechanism to ensure consistent clip delivery and closure. The Direct Drive clip applier features TiGold® clips, which are treated with a unique metallurgical process to reduce clip rebound and improve retention and security.
